The obstacles are being constructed and the grounds are being surveyed! We are excited about this THIRD ANNUAL PHITathalon! Register now! Whether you are a new participant or have done this race for the past two years, you will enjoy watching the newbies struggle to figure out the best manuvers to conquer obstacle after obstacle. Teams are emerging (you can form your own) within companies, families and groups of runners – this is, afterall, somewhat of a cult – for lack of a better term! The time is now – REGISTER TODAY!

The slip ‘n slides are back for the 2012 PHITathalon! Today should help you look forward to the wet and wild part of this adventure challenge! And trust me…it is a challenge! Last year this was the only place we actually saw the elite athletes WALKING! I couldn’t believe it! They slid down one tarp and made some feeble attempts at running up the hill, then they slid down the second and that’s when it all ended…trudging up the hill, slipping on the wet grass from those who WALKED before them, only to get to the top and see they had TWO MORE TO GO! It was shocking! This is no wimpy character dress up race – this is the real deal! Are you PHIT enough???????????

Recently those who qualified for the Boston Marathon were thrown a curve ball…they were told they could CHOOSE NOT TO PARTICIPATE, but would be allowed a one year deferment! Why? Because of the heat! The heat at this year’s third annual Phitathalon promises to be scorching! Test your will and physical endurance – register now and prepare yourself for the hottest, muddiest, most challenging mud race ever…and see if you are PHIT enough!

Preparations for the Third Annual PHITathalon are well under way! July 28th 2012 will once again see participants from as far away as Canada converge in Marysville, Ohio for another muddy, wet, humid fight to the finish! Check in on our Facebook page for updates and revealing details about the course and obstacles periodically. Open registration has begun so register yourself or your team now – don’t get shut out!

I know you are all eagerly awaiting the announcement from the staff regarding the third obstacle! Only a few weeks left until the entire course is unveiled before your eyes…although you may have trouble seeing it through the blood pumping going on in your head and the sweat dripping from your muddy forehead! Hang tight and keep checking the website!

So we’ve seen monkey bars, CrossFit, tires, etc. all being tagged as acceptable training methods to prepare the body for a crushing 5 mile course…it will never be enough! This race will be mental…we don’t just mean CRAZY!!!!!!! OFF-THE-HOOK!!!!!!!, we mean, it will take everything your mind has not to let what your eyes see before you cause your legs to turn you around! For more than a year, the mind blowing concepts at PHITathletics has been hard at work, figuring challenging ways to push you beyond human limits! have you seen the second obstacle announced yet????????????????

Its days like today most of us crave the cool, refreshing feel of ice cold water spraying us down! Though you never know exactly what to expect from the creative minds of PHIT, I can’t wait until the second obstacle is announced! Praying for water-water-water!
